Fancy-a-sit chair and the newspaper ritual
The idea emerged from the realization that newspapers, an everyday yet often overlooked ritual, hold significant cultural importance in the UK. Despite technological advancements, many Brits still cherish reading printed newspapers, with the UK leading globally in circulation. Newspapers have been influential for over 300 years, shaping opinions and trends across the British Empire and beyond. This project celebrates the communal experience of reading newspapers, often shared among strangers on public transport. Inspired by witnessing this shared moment, the project captures the essence of this timeless ritual.
